Last week took me from Milwaukee to Des Moines, to Ames Iowa to Omaha Nebraska to Plattsmouth NE and back for a final show in Milwaukee..

I Lost a Phone, drove over a thousand miles, drank a Shitload a lot of Redbull & got delayed 8 hours trying to get home.. and I loved every minute of it..

The shows with Corey Smith were ablast.. He’s got a great Crew, Great Band and is overall just a great guy.. So we rocked the Maintenance shop in Ames Iowa which is a GREAT Club on Campus, I really wanna Thank everyone in Iowa for coming out and making it an amazing night for me. After the show I had to roll to Omaha Nebraska to do Early Morning TV with my new friends at KMTV’s The “Morning Blend”-

Following the morning TV, I went and did some radio, Sound Check and had a GREAT show, a Huge thanks to everyone who came out to both of the Corey shows for posting pics to Twitter & FB.

After Omaha, I did a Private House concert which I also streamed live on stageit.com. For those of you who don’t know I’ve started reaching out to fans in cities that I’m touring through and on my days off I’m opening up limited opportunities for people to host a small, Super intimate show in their house that lasts for a few hours and is something that I won’t forget it was a BLAST so thanks to Joyce and my Friends in Nebraska for hosting a great Party, If you’re interested in hosting one, send us a message here or over at the Official Facebook page.

After Iowa & Nebraska was through I drove through the night to get up to Milwaukee.. I had a friday night show just outside of town in this Kick ass club, Sloppy Joes.. I’ve gotta tell you how blessed I am to be able to do this, I meet the coolest people go to amazing places and get to play music while doing it.. Heaven.. The club is well over 100 years old and has an amazing history, it was a packed house and a GREAT time, It was my first time in that market and I can’t wait to go Back!!!

So Thats the road last week, this week is Country Radio Seminar which is going to mean a lot of interviews, early mornings & Late nights for me.. I’ll update what were doing throughout the week! "Emmie Lou"

Earlier this week I was walking our German Shepherd/Husky mix, “Emmie” .We live on a road that dead ends into a beautiful lake here in Nashville… So, as we jogged our normal route, I decided out of the blue to take a different way, The sun was starting to set over the lake and the water is way down so I decided to take “Emmie” down a path out to the rocks that in the summertime are underwater to take a picture of her with the sun setting over the lake behind her…

So I find a good rock, have Emmie Sit & stay while I was getting my phone ready to take her picture.. This went on for about 2 mins (as I’m not the best camera operator in the world, Don’t judge me) I then heard a rustling in the bushes behind me, Emmie obviously perked up to see what would be coming out of these bushes.. At first all that was visable was Black & white to which I was mortified to think I had about 3 seconds to take some sort of action (aka Running) before I got sprayed by a skunk.. Then it happened…

Out of the bushes stumbles an obviously  starved and a very weak & close to dying Boston Terrier… He immeadiatly started working his way over to me, stumbling & falling over weak.. As he got closer to me I could tell he was mostly blind if not completely and had bedded down to die out here in the woods..  I called Kourtney (my GF) who is very close with a Vet in town and the DR. was kind enough to stay over an hour late as I picked him up, put him in my truck and hauled ass about 35-45 mins to the vets office..

On the Way to the office I was petting him, trying to keep him calm and awake because I didn’t know his condition.. On that ride to the vet I was trying to think of names that fit this guy, Blind in need of lots of help & for some reason I just came to the conclusion that if he were able to speak it would be in a british accent. So, Mr. Hobson is where I landed..

Hobson

Hobson was the butler in the original “Arthur” movies from the 80′s and it just seemed to fit this guy..  The Vet Took amazing care of “Hobs” fluids, flea, Tick, wormer, skin scrapes, more fluids, antibiotics and other stuff I don’t know what it was.. Nevertheless, The Dr told us, He seems to be okay, He believed (as he was un-Neutered) that he could have been a stud dog for a breeder who when was too old that he was dumped in a ditch by the side of a road to die(this happens a lot on dead end roads) where he probably went maybe 10 days, 2 weeks without food…

So Here is the long & short.. I am Posting a Stageit Show and I’m inviting you to Help Mr. Hobson.. We are going to give Hob’s the best rest of his days that we can.. So every penny from this stageit show is going to go to his Vet bills which will continue to build as we take every step we can to get him healthy. The vet was unsure, maybe 13 years old- He may have a large array of things and may go in his sleep Tonight or Next week or two years from now.. Its all hard to say, but the one sure thing is that the rest of Hob’s Days will be warm, comfy & full of bowls of food, Blankets, bones & Toys (he’s been chewing on a Sheep Lately)…

I’m writing this from a kick ass pair of Red flannel pajama pants that I Love to live in when I’m on tour or when I’m catching up on Phone calls & emails… This has been one of the busiest Januarys I’ve had in a very long time… Between playing, booking shows for the rest of the year,  emails, calls, meetings with everyone from managers to labels to a new photo shoot next week,  talking about hosting a new syndicated radio show and pretty much planning my life out 5 months in advance it has been crazy, usually everyone in Jan in kinda chill and eases their way back into the year but it’s a Full speed ahead January for me and I love it..

The Truth is it’s been quite a while since I’ve felt the kind of momentum that I’m feeling now.. I feel super charged with energy, I’m writing songs that I’m proud of.. Not 30 songs a month but quality over quantity.. I’m finally doing it all the way I’ve always wanted & been scared to do, because if it didn’t work I’d be asking you if you would like that Arby Q medium or Large Sized.. I don’t know anything else then this and I’m over the moon that someway, somehow.. It’s Still working and so am I.. Thank you Lawd!!

There are a bunch of new shows in the works, New Tours and all that… I’ve gotta say I’m pretty effing excited about February, I’ll be hopping out on a few Corey Smith dates in Iowa & Nebraska, I love what he & his crew are doing and how they’re doing it, I’m looking forward to getting a chance to get to know them all a bit..

So all in all the word of January is Awe & blessings, Thanks to all of you who keep buying the record & tickets and making the trips to listen to me tell stories… I Love this life and it’s all looking up, Thanks to you..  and now… The 2012 Return of my 3 “R”s

Tony is in my opinion one the best writers in this town! He has an amazing way of bringing you into the story, even more in my opinion then the huge artists who cut his songs.. Trust me on this go Buy this record!
